Forget Jumper Leads, Get Yourself a Portable Jump Start Battery Pack Instead

Forget Jumper Leads, Get Yourself a Portable Jump Start Battery Pack Instead

When I was a student and I used to drive around in an old clunker, I always used to carry a set of jumper leads in the car with me.

Jumper leads, in case you didn't know, a pair of heavy duty insulated copper wires that I used to link one car's flat battery to another vehicles good battery. The other charge from the good battery has to travel the length of wire between the two vehicles and, with any luck, they will give a boost to the flat battery to take over the engine and get the car started.

But sometimes, the booster cables would not be able to transfer enough power to the car with a flat battery. This could be because any one of the four spring battery clips was making poor contact with a battery terminal, all because the supply voltage dropped too much along the long length of jumper wire.

These days, however, you can buy a cheap jump-starter battery pack which combines a small spare battery in a convenient plastic case together with two short jumper leads and two spring terminals.

The much shorter length of cable ensures that voltage drop is minimized, and having two spring clip terminals instead of four spring clips actually halves your chances of a bad connection someplace. So these portable jump-start battery packs work better than the old jumper leads ever did. They are much more reliable.

You can buy a jump-start battery pack at any auto-supply store or in the auto-supplies section of any supermarket. These battery packs are normally supplied with a small wal-wart type power supply that can charge the battery from your household 110 (or 220) volt A/C mains supply, plus a 12 volt DC charge cable that can charge the pack off your car's cigarette lighter socket while the engine is running.

Maybe Santa could put one in your stocking this Christmas!

The Denver Nuggets are better without Carmelo Anthony

The Denver Nuggets are better without Carmelo Anthony

No one knew at the time, but the Denver Nuggets are just living well, such as trade Carmelo Anthony. You are more than good. Are thriving. They are 9-2. In fact, for the first time in team history, have won three consecutive road games for more than ten points. It makes me think, what they would record if they did, would this trade before the season. They had a full training camp together, and together a full season. Not to mentionthe constant dark cloud of Caramel, hanging over their heads every night affair. The agreement was two thirds in this team was put together on the fly and have always done.

The reasons are obvious, like the mountains covered with snow in the Denver area. They have much more depth. Wilson Chandler and Raymond Felton have contributed strong offensively and defensively. Chandler is a good shooter and plays tough defense. Felton scored a goal, and was alwaysthe ball to other players in their positions better scores. It is no secret that the problems never very Caramel, defensive end. Everyone plays defense now or do not play at all. With more depth can begin to play hard because they know when they were tired. They will be replaced and there is really down to talent with the reserves. The Nuggets have the ball, press the court and wear teams, even on the road. In addition, the players know that ifare his to play bad or do not play defense, they are by George Karl, in a second slot. Remember to get all of this is, without Danilo Gallinari, an important component in the trade was made. It 'been a toe injury and will return soon. Gallinari to play well, just to earn minutes.

The Nuggets have a team concept. What's new, but one of the drawbacks is a superstar, there is a tendency to stand around and watch him play one on one basketball. This is anice to have options, because Caramel is one of the best players in the league. But it has led to a lot of standing around and watching other players on the field. Caramel without the Nuggets have no other choice but to move the ball and share the ball, which is what they did. They have seven men in double figures mean. Defenses can not just pick the one man to zero. Every night these players can pick up 25

The Nuggets, a team fromWatches come playoff time. And 'more likely that the Nuggets play the young and talented Oklahoma City Thunder will be in the first round. This is the Marquis all rounds up the first game. The Thunder will be slightly favored, but do not give their full attention and the Nuggets play at their highest level, they may simply be sent home packing early.
